INFO

Polaroid film is one of photography’s masterpieces — a technological marvel when their iconic integral film was introduced in 1972, equal amounts impressive and magical.

Though discontinued by Polaroid in 2008, we can still experience the joy of instant film thanks to new colour and B&W film stocks produced by The Impossible Project, and their exciting new Impossible I-1 camera.

Whether you are a current I-1 owner who wants to get the most from your camera or you just want a hands-on introduction to what makes this camera so special, please join us for a Impossible I-1 Camera Workshop with photographer Dan Rubin.

The workshop will cover the history of Polaroid and of The Impossible Project, Dan’s love affair with Polaroid and Impossible films, setting up the camera and the I-1 app for iOS/Android, an indoor and outdoor shooting session including the I-1 app’s Manual Mode (allowing control of aperture, shutter speed, flash, and focus distance), creative techniques including double-exposures, and light painting, and a discussion of the photographs taken.

Impossible I-1 cameras will be available to use with free I-type film from Impossible and attendees can also bring their own I-1 cameras.

Plus there will be special offers in the Bookshop for all attendees.

About Dan:

Born in Miami Beach and now based in London, Dan is a designer, photographer, art director, and co-founder / editor-at-large of The Photographic Journal. After being introduced to the world of photography through a Polaroid SX-70, his work takes him on many adventures around the world where he captures his journey via various photographic mediums – including Impossible instant films.
